Urbanized: Busy Town

Busy Town is a series of 26″ x 40″ drawings using Copic markers.  The images are inspired by city planning drawings, diagrams and charts, and describe different urban environments I have experienced.  The drawings describe the logistics of planning urban centers, showing how zoning (or non-zoning), transportation, leisure, work and home are considered.  Using stencils made for my Urbanized prints, I trace these cut out forms into different configurations that become the basis for the Busy Town drawings.  Patterning and color is applied, in a specific system, unique to each image.
